The North Park Farmers' Market now proudly accepts EBT!

The North Park Thursday Farmers' Market is now proudly accepting EBT at the market!

Bring your card to the Information Booth on Herman Avenue and we'll provide you with EBT Scrip Cards you can use at any of our 25+ farm booths and any vendors selling grocery items to take home & eat.

(EBT dollars will not be accepted at non-food or any prepared food to eat on-site booths.)


We are proud to offer healthy food options to those using EBT to shop for groceries.

Looking for inspiration after loading up on citrus from the North Park Thursday farmers' market? Check out these sweet and sour ideas:

Blood oranges are very versitile! Buy salmon from Sakura Seafoods for this Salmon & Blood Orange Salsa and use the extra oranges to make these sweet dessert bars. Stock up on your favorite citrus from Smit Farms for this citrus salad (drizzle with honey from Meljess Bees for added flavor). After stirring up some citrus-ade, try dehydrating R&L Farm's grapefruits, limes and lemons! You can use dehydrated citrus to flavor The Loose Leaf's teas and your favorite soups, or use for crafts and decorations.

Have you ever tried Dragon Fruit (also known as pitaya) before? Now you can when you welcome our newest farmer, Gerwig Avocado Ranch at the North Park Farmers' Market! This prickly plant is crunchy like a pear, and sweet like a kiwi. (Learn how to pick the ripe one and prepare it here!)

Start your 2015 the right way with help from the North Park Farmers' Market!

With fresh, local produce you can make this your healthiest year yet! Try this refreshing Avocado Celery salad with celery from Suzie's Farm, cucumbers from Valdivia Farms, and ripe avocados from Paradise Valley Ranch (add flavorful Hopkins AG almonds and tangerine slices from Smit Farms to kick it up a notch).

Be sure to use that left over celery, avocado, and cucumber for this detoxifying smoothie!

It's going to be a bustling day at the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market this week!

Come watch the local pros show you how to cook for Hanukkah this season; Executive Chef and owner Matt Gordon from Urban Solace will be whipping up latkes at 5pm and watch owner Joanne Sherif of Cardamom Cafe demonstrate how to make challah bread at 6pm!

Say HI to the North Park Library and make a free kids holiday craft with Mona Lizzy's Art Studio at the market as well.

Don't forget to shop for dinner and check some holiday gifts off your list too!

See you at the market from 3pm - 7pm!

Now scheduling local talent to play to fun, energetic crowds at our 3 weekly farmers markets in great San Diego neighborhoods! We have a great roster since our musicians tell us they book a lot of gigs with people they meet at markets, sell CDs and benefit from shopper donations. (Weekday market musicians get a small stipend in Market Money good at any booth.) 

Email Kristen at with a link to your music to join now! We are very community and family friendly, and love supporting  local musicians! 

Do note, musicians need to be available to play market hours open to close, with approriate breaks between sets.

Chef Nathan Lyon will be at the market signing and selling copies of his amazing new cookbook: Great Food Starts Fresh! Come chat with the Chef, check out his recipes and shop for fresh produce from our local farmers to cook at home. This book makes a great holiday gift too, so pick up an extra copy for someone on your list! 

Bring the kids to the market too! Mona Lizzy's Art Studio will be on site making festive fall nature crowns! Just bring a sense of creativity- this craft is free for the kids! 

Shop for fresh local produce, grab groceries for your Thanksgiving feast next week and pick up a special gift. The North Park Market is the place to be on Thursdays!

Persimmons are popping up at the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market and we can't get enough! They are versatile enough to eat raw, cooked, baked and dehydrated.

Buy these delicious orange fruits from Smit Farms, gather spinach and beets from Suzie's Farm and make an easy salad. Saute slices of persimmons and add them to your oatmeal in the morning, or try this persimmon bread. Make some oven-dried persimmons for a quick snack!

Don't miss out on this great fall crop we love here in Southern California!

Gather ingredients from the North Park Farmers' Market to make healthy treats for all your ghouls and goblins before they head out for trick-or-treating this Friday night.

Substitute fresh pumpkins from J.R. Organics and locally grown apples from R&L Farms in this healthy muffin recipe to serve on Friday morning. To keep their hands out of the candy bags, offer up these persimmon cookies using Paradise Valley Ranch's persimmons and orange juice for the icing. Incorporate these tasty treats and have a sweet Halloween! 

The North Park Farmers' Market is open until 7pm every Thursday evening, all year long! Don't worry, we turn on the lights when the sun goes down so you can still shop for everything on your grocery list!

Pomegranates from Paradise Valley Ranch and R&L Farms at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market add a festive splash of color to any recipe!

Use Charlie's Best Bread French bread, pastured eggs and apples from Smit Farms for this pomegranate apple bread pudding. Spoon pomegranate seeds over a cheesecake made with Springhill Cheese Company’s organic quark, or use them in stuffing for a roast chicken from Da-Le Ranch.
