Tahitian or Bearss limes from Paradise Valley Ranch at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market add a spicy, fragrant flavor along with a splash of bright acidity to guacamole, salsas, or margaritas (for the over 21 set!).

Find more fresh limes at the market from R&L Farms and Atkins Nursery. Pick up a locally raised chicken from Da-Le Ranch and cilantro from Suzies Farm for this simply delicious cilantro-lime chicken (made in a slow cooker!) and serve on fresh-made tortillas from Don Tommy's, topped with salsa from Gourmet Tamales, or kick it up a notch by garnishing the dish with these spicy Indian lime pickles.

Use juicy limes and organic butter from Springhill Cheese Company to make these amazing key lime meltaways; garnish them with candied lime peels. Isn't it time you cooked with limes?

There’s a touch of autumn in the air at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market despite the recent warm days. Get in the Fall mood; buy fall squashes like butternut, acorn and spaghetti squash at African Sisters Farm (they are back today after a short hiatus), pick up fresh black eyed peas at Suzie’s Farm, and enjoy crisp Gala apples and freshly pressed cider from Smit Farms. Valdivia Farms has late season corn so sweet they call it “peaches and cream.” We’re sure you’ll fall for the flavors of autumn at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market

Summer brings the bounty of bright red, yellow, purple and orange tomatoes to the North Park Thursday farmers' market and we've been dicing, stewing and snacking on them during these warm days all summer long. But as the heat starts to wear off and the days get shorter, let's not forget to enjoy these juicy fruits scattered on the farmers' tables before they're gone!

Pick the oddest shaped, biggest heirloom variety from J.R. Organics and dice them with chile peppers, onion and cilantro from African Sister's Farm for a bright salsa fresca, or add them to ripe avocados from Paradise Valley Ranch for guacamole.

Slice beefsteak tomatoes from Valdivia Farm and serve with your favorite cheeses from Springhill Cheese Company, fresh basil from Atkins Nursery and a touch of olive oil from The California Olive, or pick up R&L Farms citrus to try this cool and refreshing Grapefruit and Heirloom Tomato Salad. Buy multi-colored cherry tomatoes from Suzie's Farm to add a finishing touch on any salad or to snack on while you cook your main meal.

These summer treats will be piled high at the North Park Market, see you there from 3-7pm

The heat is on in San Diego, and that means melons are gracing the farmers' tables at the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market. Serve up drinks for the grown-ups with a twist; try this Watermelon Tequila beverage with Meljess Bees Honey. Into pickling? Don't toss those rinds! Follow these steps to use the melon shell.

IT'S A GRAPE DAY!

It's a grape time to shop the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market. Grape season comes but once a year and the local farmers at the market are bringing a wide variety of the sweet, snack sized fruits.

Grab a bag of red flame grapes from R&L Farms and add to a fruit salad including strawberries from J.R. Organics, raspberries from Kawano Farms and a squeeze of local honey from Meljess Bees. Add a dollop of Ancient Secrets Greek yogurt (found at the Majestic Garlic booth) and breakfast is served. Grapes make the perfect addition to your cheese board; pick up a selection from Moonlight Cheese like the sharp, nutty flavored Idyllwild, and buy your favorite SpringHill Cheese Company curds. Add a handful of roasted raw almonds from Hopkins AG and you're set.

Green grapes from Smit Orchards can pull double duty as just the right touch of sweetness and the perfect texture when making this cucumber salad using crisp cukes from Valdivia Farm. Buy dark kale from Suzie's Farm and toss up this salad with grapes and feta cheese. Grapes aren't just for salads; grab a local chicken from Da-Le Ranch and lemons from Paradise Valley Ranch for this Roasted Lemon Chicken with Red Grapes. Toss grapes in this pasta dish and check out this unique Chicken Grilled Cheese with Grapes (grab a loaf of your favorite bread, like Country French, from Belen Bakery).

Kyoho Grape season only lasts a few months, so grab this special variety of big, juicy grape at D&G Produce while you can! Their larger size makes them perfect for snacking or adding to your favorite recipe.

Every day can be a grape day when you eat local at the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market from 3 - 7pm!
