You’ll find piles of freshly picked purple, green, and yellow string beans at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market from Suzie’s Farm, JR Organics' Farm and Kawano Farms and so many ways to enjoy them!

Try them chilled and tossed with fresh basil and aged balsamic vinegar from The California Olive, sauteed with crunchy roasted almonds from Hopkins AG (we used their chipotle almonds for a spicy kick!), or roasted with fennel for a tasty treat.

If you’re cooking outside tonight, fill a foil packet with string beans, summer squash and spring onion from Valdivia Farm- it makes an awesome side dish to a Da-Le Ranch tri-tip.

Stock up on locally grown string beans on Thursdays from 3 to 7!

Take a break from summer’s heat with a handful of cool, juicy, red and green grapes from Smit Farms and R&L Farms at the North Park Thursday Farmers’ Market. Eat them fresh, pop them in the freezer for an icy snack, or toss them with melon and strawberries from Kawano Farms for a fun fruit salad.

Cover green grapes with chevre and roll in crushed pistachios from Hopkins AG for a unique party appetizer or snack, use Suzie's Farm's fresh herbs and Meljess Bees honey for a blended basil-grape slush, or pair green grapes with English cucumbers from JR Organics in a cool gazpacho. Feeling adventurous? Try this grape pie recipe!

The first crop of plump tomatoes on the vine have landed at the North Park Thursday farmers' market, courtesy of Valdivia Farms! To us, tomatoes signal summer time and gets us excited for the onslaught of many different varieties of 'maters to come.

Try these baseball-sized tomatoes sliced and layered with J.R. Organics' cucumbers, and add a drizzle of reduced balsamic from The California Olive for a delicious vegan side-dish, or make a pot of cool gazpacho for warm days. Slice tomatoes for your Da-Le Ranch grass-fed beef burger on toasted rolls from Belen Bakery.
