Orange You Glad?

Our latest addition to the certified farmers market at North Park is Lone Oak Ranch, bringing crispy Asian pears, giant Pommelos, Satsuma mandarins and other juicy citrus right now; they’re also pretty well known to local chefs for bringing some of the state’s best stone fruit in the summer months. Please stop by and welcome them and their fruit to the neighborhood.

Speaking of citrus…

Since citrus fruits and juices are so refreshing, many people think of them as summer fruits, but in California citrus thrives in winter. Right now some of the very best and ripest fruits are available from R&L, Smit and Lone Oak, including navel, Valencia and Cara Cara oranges, Oro Blanco grapefruit, tangelos and tangerines.  Ruby Red grapefruit and blood oranges may be here as soon as this Thursday. Toss citrus sections with your favorite greens and sliced red onion from Suzie’s or J.R. Organics for a simple salad, or add a piece of grilled fish from Poppa’s or pork loin from Da Le Ranch to make a great dinner.

I've lived in San Diego for over ten years and have never heard of the San Diego Woman's Club. Where on earth is it? It appears I'm mnsiisg out on some quality live music.

If they're bringing 10-20 cars into a riisdenteal area, causing traffic and parking problems absolutely. See, here's how rights work: your rights are yours to choose until they infringe on somebody else's rights then you have to compromise. Those people were creating traffic and parking problems in a riisdenteal neighborhood on a weekly basis and had already had one of their visitors hit somebody else's car, they were blocking others' driveways and parking on lawns. Doesn't matter if you're meeting to study the bible, play poker, or have ****** you cause a nuisance, you're infringing on other peoples' right to the quiet enjoyment of their own property. The point of the permit, by the way, is that to get one requires filling out information about how many cars will be there, how often, is there adequate parking that doesn't infringe on others, etc. If your meeting (again, no matter what it is for) is causing a neighborhood problem, you're not going to get a permit.Oh, and liberal *** kicker: the constitution allows regulation of gathering, religious or political or otherwise. The county isn't telling them they can't do bible study, they're telling them they can't infringe on their neighbor's rights. It's especially ridiculous in this case, because the group was offered *free* space at the local country library, which has adequate parking and private meeting rooms, but they turned it down and instead infringed on their neighbors' rights.I live in that county the christian news sources have done a very poor and completely biased job of reporting facts, preferring instead to call it religious persecution. Ridiculous. The county has done the exact same thing for weekly poker games. It's not a first amendment issue.I'm also sure this pastor would be the first one to scream to the county if his neighbors started having nightly islamic prayer services at their home Peace.
