YOU GOT TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT
Let's Move is the First Lady's national campaign to empower and raise a healthier generation. From parents to kids, communities, and chefs it's all about making the choices that will make us healthier. The Little Italy Mercato spans 5 whole blocks; perfect for walking and shopping. Pick up your farm fresh food, artisan offerings and get outside and move.
At the top of the market there's Re-Pac bags where you can purchase your reusable - and fashionable! - shopping bags to tote around your market goodies. Make your way down the hill and check out Electric Bikes, where you can test drive their electric bicycles (and then maybe head down to their shop on India Street to rent one for the day).
Continuing on toward the water, there are all the vegetables, fruits, meats, fish and eggs you could desire from favorites like JR Organics, Schaner and Vang Farms, Son Rise Ranch, Poppa's Fresh Fish and Springhill Cheese. Stop by Suzie's Farm and ask about their monthly farm tours. And when you've reached the end and snagged a refreshing fruit infused iced tea from Thirsteas, turn around and walk right back up. Let's get out and move together!
